MUMBAI, April 13 (Reuters) -
STOCKS: The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 162.41 points, or 0.27%, to 60,230.36, while the broader NSE index lost 57.65 points, or 0.32%, to 17,754.75, as IT stocks weighed after weak quarterly earnings and a cautious outlook from top IT firm TCS Ltd , and on rising concerns of a "mild recession" in the U.S. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.16% versus the U.S. dollar, and quoted at 81.96 per dollar, as Federal Reserve officials flagged risks to the economy, which compounded troubles for the dollar index. GOVERNMENT BONDS: Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.23 rupees, with yield up 1 bps at 7.2241% vs previous close of 7.2134%, as traders await debt auction result. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS: The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down 1 bps at 6.55%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 2 bps to 6.07%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 20 bps at 6.10% against 6.30% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.40%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.2659%. (Reporting by Dharamraj Dhutia)
