(Adds statistics office comment) April 13 (Reuters) - Czech consumer prices rose by 15.0% on a yearly basis in March, easing from the previous month to hit the lowest rate since April 2022, statistics office data showed on Thursday. Month-on-month inflation was at a rate of +0.1%. The year-on-year inflation rate dropped from a reading of 16.7% in February. Analysts in a Reuters poll had expected a 14.9% year-on-year rise, along with a 0.1% month-on-month increase. "Consumer prices moderated their year-on-year growth for a second consecutive time," Pavla Sediva, from the statistics office's CPI unit, said.

"Most of this slowdown came from development of last year's higher comparative base. Prices in transport even fell year-on-year, mainly due to decreasing prices of fuels."
