JOHANNESBURG, April 14 (Reuters) - The following scheduled economic events, equity and currency market moves may affect South African markets on Friday.

SOUTH AFRICAN MARKETS South Africa's rand jumped on Thursday as the dollar fell after U.S. data showed producer prices dropped last month, fuelling expectations that the Federal Reserve could be nearing the end of its rate hiking cycle. GLOBAL MARKETS Asian shares firmed on Friday as Singapore became the latest country to pause its policy tightening and markets became more confident the likely next hike in U.S. rates would be the last this cycle. WALL STREET U.S. stocks ended sharply higher on Thursday as economic data showed cooling inflation and a loosening labour market. GOLD Gold prices edged higher on Friday, set for a second consecutive weekly gain, as the U.S. dollar tumbled and recent economic data prompted bets the Fed could be nearing the end of its rate-hike cycle.
