Turkey - Factors to Watch on April 14

ISTANBUL, April 14 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday. The lira traded at 19.3350 against the dollar early on Friday, slightly weaker than its close on Thursday of 19.3270. The main BIST 100 share index closed 0.21% lower at 5,135.55 points on Thursday.


GLOBAL MARKETS Asian shares firmed on Friday as Singapore became the latest country to pause its policy tightening and markets became more confident the likely next hike in U.S. rates would be the last this cycle.


ERDOGAN SCHEDULE President Tayyip Erdogan will attend a groundbreaking ceremony for housing in Diyarbakir for people whose houses were damaged by the earthquakes in February.



FOREIGN MINISTER Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will meet with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg in Vienna. Cavusoglu will also meet with Helga Maria Schmid, the Secretary General of OSCE and International Atomic Energy Agency President Rafael Mariano Grossi.



OBSERVATION SATELLITE Defence Minister Hulusi Akar and Industry Minister Mustafa Varank will attend a ceremony for the launch of Turkey's first observation satellite IMECE. (0648)


EXTERNAL DEBT The Central Bank will announce the short-term external debt statistics for February. (0700)


PRODUCER PRICES Turkish Statistical Institute will announce the Agricultural Products Producer Price Index for March. (0700)
