Turkey - Factors to Watch on April 17

ISTANBUL, April 17 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Monday. The lira traded at 19.3720 against the dollar at 0336 GMT, slightly weaker than its close on Friday of 19.3700. The main BIST 100 share index closed 0.83% lower at 5,092.88 points on Friday.


GLOBAL MARKETS Asian stocks traded cautiously on Monday as U.S. earnings season gets into full swing, while a raft of Chinese data will offer insight into how the world's second-largest economy is recovering.


ERDOGAN PROGRAMME President Tayyip Erdogan will make at a speech at an opening ceremony for the Istanbul Financial Centre on the Asian side of Istanbul (1100 GMT). He will then attend a ceremony for the launch of new housing in the city (1300 GMT).


BUDGET DATA The Treasury will announce central government budget data for March (0800 GMT).


HOUSE SALES The Turkish Statistical Institute will announced house sales data for March (0700 GMT).


TURKISH SOLDIERS WOUNDED Four Turkish soldiers were wounded in artillery and rocket attacks by Kurdish militants on bases in northern Syria, prompting a counter attack, Ankara said on Sunday.


IRAQ OIL EXPORTS Oil exports from northern Iraq to the Turkish port of Ceyhan remain at a standstill almost three weeks after an arbitration case ruled Ankara owed Baghdad compensation for unauthorised exports.


DANISH ENVOY SUMMONED Turkey summoned the Danish ambassador in Ankara to express its strong condemnation and protest over what it said had been attacks on the Koran and on the Turkish flag on Friday, the Foreign Ministry said.
