(Adds news items, updates futures) April 17 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index is seen opening higher on Monday with futures up 0.3%.
* JOHN WOOD GROUP: John Wood Group said decided to engage with Apollo Management for a firm offer for a final buyout price of 240 pence per share.
* PAGE GROUP: Global recruiter PageGroup Plc forecast near 29% slump in its annual profit.



* QINETIQ: British defence group Qinetiq upgraded its


full-year outlook , guiding profits would come in ahead of analyst expectations.



* S4 CAPITAL: Martin Sorrell, executive chair of advertising group S4 Capital , said he had


successful keyhole surgery in February to remove a tumour.



* BARCLAYS: Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) has recommended Barclays investors re-elect all board members at its annual meeting in May.
* STRIKES: Nurses in England rejected offer of 5% pay rise on Friday and set out plans for further strikes.
* DE LA RUE: British banknote printer De La Rue Plc said on Friday chairman Kevin Loosemore resigned from role.
* GSK: British drugmaker GSK said on Saturday oral antibiotic drug to treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections in female adults and adolescents met main goals in late-stage trials.
* ROYAL MAIL: Britain's Royal Mail and Communication Workers Union reached proposed agreement over pay and employment terms.
* OIL: Oil prices edged up slightly, supported by OPEC+'s plans to cut more output, while investors eyed Chinese economic data for signs of demand recovery.
* FTSE: Britain's FTSE 100 ended higher on Friday boosted by shares of big British banks.
