** Telecom Italia (TIM)


has received two new offers from rival groups seeking to buy its landline grid, the company said, as the deadline it had set for improved bids passed.




** Advent-owned NielsenIQ's tie-up with German market research firm is likely to face a full-scale EU antitrust investigation, with regulators demanding asset sales in return for clearing the deal, people familiar with the matter said.


** Canada’s Desjardins Group is seeking acquisitions in the property and casualty (P&C) insurance space as it seeks to boost its presence across the country, CEO Guy Cormier told Reuters.


** Italy's Banco BPM said it was looking to partner with a flagship market player to enhance its digital payments business.


** Teck Resources Ltd's plan to split its coal and copper businesses is the "most strategic" option for shareholders, a senior executive said, as the company ratchets up efforts to block Glencore Plc's $22.5 billion takeover attempt.


** Goldman Sachs Group Inc is exploring the sale of its Greensky fintech business, the bank's CEO said, its latest move to scale down its retail ambitions.


** French shipping group CMA CGM is offering 5 billion euros ($5.48 billion) for the logistics unit of Bollore, the family-run conglomerate said.



** Liontrust Asset Management said it was


in talks to buy smaller peer GAM Holding AG to combine its investment management unit with the Zurich-based company.



** Elior shareholders approved the French catering group's acquisition of Derichebourg's DMS arm, in a deal to create a bigger outsourcing company.



** Energy group Edison is


not for sale , the chief executive of the Italian unit of French utility EDF said, adding the value of the unit could be well above 7-8 billion euros ($7.9-$8.8 billion) calculated by analysts.




** Britain's competition regulator said it has launched a "Phase 1" probe into Amazon.com Inc's planned $1.7 billion acquisition of iRobot Corp , which makes the Roomba vacuum cleaner.


** GSK plans to buy Canada-based drug developer Bellus Health Inc in an all-cash deal for $2 billion as the British drugmaker expands its bet on respiratory therapies.



** British cinema chain operator Cineworld said it has abandoned the planned sale of its businesses in Eastern Europe and Israel, saying the proposals it got did not meet the value needed by its lenders.


** State-owned China Mobile Ltd is exploring a potential buyout of Hong Kong's leading telecoms company HKBN Ltd , which is currently valued at $1 billion, four people with knowledge of the matter said.
** Glencore executives have met or spoken with some 120 Teck Resources shareholders during a short visit to Toronto to try to win support for the company's takeover bid rather than an internal overhaul, a source familiar with the situation said.


** Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp's deal to buy the Kentucky operations of American Electric Power has fallen through, the companies said on Monday, following multiple delays since its announcement nearly 1-1/2 years ago.


** Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp on Monday agreed to sell its stake in Tao Group Hospitality to realty-focused investment firm Mohari Hospitality in a deal that values the high-end restaurant business at $550 million.
