MUMBAI, April 18 (Reuters) -
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 155.94 points, or 0.26%,
to 59,754.81, while the broader NSE index lost 53.3
points, or 0.30%, to 17,653.55, dragged by financial stocks amid
weak quarterly earning updates. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.07% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 82.04 per dollar, as strong U.S. macroeconomic
data bolstered bets of a Federal Reserve rate hike. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.23
rupees, with the yield down 2 bps at 7.2244%, on value buying.
The benchmark was unable to break 7.26% level on the upside. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
3 bps at 6.57%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 3 bps to 6.15%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 5 bps at
6.45%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.18%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.5075%.
