MUMBAI, April 19 (Reuters) - STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 159.21 points, or 0.27%,
to 59,567.8, while the broader NSE index lost 41.4
points, or 0.23%, to 17,618.75 dragged by IT stocks and the lack
of any fresh triggers to offset the downbeat sentiment after a
lacklustre start to the earnings season. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.23% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 82.2250 per dollar as the greenback staged a
recovery on firmer U.S. Treasury yields. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.22
rupees, with yield little changed at 7.2251% vs previous close
of 7.2207% as traders avoided placing large bets amid lack of
fresh triggers. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was
unchanged at 6.58%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 1 bps to 6.11%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 30 bps at
6.25% against 6.55% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.24%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.5862%.
