WINDHOEK, April 19 (Reuters) - Namibia's central bank on
Wednesday raised its main lending rate by 25 basis points to
7.25%.
The bank said in a statement that the decision was aimed at
continuing to anchor inflation expectations, safeguarding a
currency peg with the South African rand and avoiding "harsh
impulses" to the domestic economy.
The Bank of Namibia has now hiked its lending rate eight
times in a little over a year as it tries to tame inflation.
