"We clearly need to continue to work to bring inflation
down," Bowman said at the end of an event in Odessa, Texas
designed to elicit comments from businesses and educators about
their economic challenges.
The economy remains strong, Bowman said, though bankers
continue to expect a slowdown in the coming year. "It's not that
they don't want to extend credit, it's just that there may not
be as many opportunities for them to do so," she said.

Bowman on Thursday said the U.S. central bank needs to do more
