STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 164.52 points, or 0.28%,
to 59,467.83, while the broader NSE index lost 34.65
points, or 0.20%, to 17,589.8, as investors remained cautious
after a weak revenue outlook from HCLTech and ahead of the
quarterly earnings of the country's top firm by market
capitalisation, Reliance Industries. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.02% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 82.17 per dollar, unable to sustain its marginal
uptick amid concerns over how risk appetite will shape up.. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.24
rupees, with yield unchanged at 7.2220%; vs previous close of
7.2206%, as traders await debt auction result. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was up 1
bps at 6.60%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate stayed fixed to 6.10%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 10 bps at
6.65% against 6.55% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.82%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.5530%.
