GLOBAL MARKETS Asian shares started cautiously on Monday in a week packed with economic data and central bank meetings, along with earnings from the tech giants that have kept the S&P 500 afloat so far this year.
OPPOSITION PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE Kemal Kilicdaroglu, presidential candidate of the main opposition alliance, will hold election rallies in the eastern provinces of Ardahan (0730 GMT) and Kars (1000 GMT) and then in the southwestern province of Usak (1400 GMT).
CAPACITY USAGE The central bank will announce capacity utilisation data for April (0700 GMT).
MANUFACTURING CONFIDENCE The central bank will also release manufacturing confidence data for April (0700 GMT).
KARABAKH TENSIONS Azerbaijan said on Sunday it had established a checkpoint on the only land route to the contested region of Nagorno-Karabakh, a step that was followed by claims of border shootings by both Azeri and Armenian forces.
BLACK SEA GRAIN DEAL Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev said on Sunday that if the G7 moved to ban exports to Russia, Moscow would respond by terminating the Black Sea Grain deal that enables vital exports of grain from Ukraine.
INTEREST RATES President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that interest rates will fall as long as he is in power, and that inflation will decline with them, repeating his unorthodox views.
