STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 74.99 points, or 0.12%,
to 60,131.09, while the broader NSE index gained 10.3
points, or 0.06%, to 17,753.7, as investors await key quarterly
results in a busy earnings week. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.05% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 81.95 per dollar, tracking the weakness in its
Asian peers, with likely importer-led dollar demand also
weighing on the local currency. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 101.04
rupees, with yield up 1 bps at 7.1087%; vs previous close of
7.0977%, on profit booking after recent fall in yields. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
5 bps at 6.52%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 7 bps to 5.98%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at
6.75% against 6.75% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.75%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.7216%.
