Sri Lankan shares on seven-day losing run

April 25 (Reuters) - Sri Lankan shares closed lower for the seventh consecutive session on Tuesday, dragged by stocks of consumer staples and industrial companies.


* The CSE All Share index fell 0.67% to close at 9,125.32. The index has shed 3.1% in the past seven sessions.
* On the day, Ceylon Tobacco Plc and Malwatte Valley Plantations Plc were the top decliners on the benchmark index, falling 3.1% and 10.6%, respectively.
* Overall trading volume rose to 61.3 million shares from 51.2 million in the previous session.
* The equity market's turnover rose to 1.14 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($3.6 million) from 678.7 million rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
* Foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 293 million rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 1.09 billion rupees, the data showed.
