STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 348.8 points, or 0.58%,
to 60,649.38, while the broader NSE index gained 102.85
points, or 0.58%, to 17,916.45, as strong earnings from major
firms boosted sentiment. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.09% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 81.8375 per dollar, reversing its dollar
inflow-led gains amid mixed Asian peers. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 101.09
rupees, with yield down 1 bps at 7.1012%. Traders await debt
auction and Federal Reserve policy decision. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
1 bps at 6.55%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate stayed fixed to 6.00%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at
6.70% against 6.70% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.80%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.7545%.
