GLOBAL MARKETS Asian shares extended losses on Thursday as troubles at U.S. lender First Republic Bank continued to unnerve investors amid concerns that growth in the world's biggest economy could very well surprise to the downside.
ERDOGAN SCHEDULE President Tayyip Erdogan will attend a ceremony at the Akkuyu nuclear plant via videolink, instead of in person, due to health issues. He also cancelled an election rally for the second day in a row.
RATE DECISION Turkey's central bank will announce its policy rate decision (1100 GMT). All 21 economists in a Reuters poll expected the bank to keep the rate unchanged at 8.5%.
CENBANK DATA The central bank will also release weekly data, including forex reserves (1130 GMT).
ECONOMIC CONFIDENCE The Turkish Statistical Institute will release economic confidence index data for April (0700 GMT).
OPPOSITION The main opposition's presidential candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu will hold rallies in the Balikesir and Tekirdag provinces.
