INSEE said the increase was due to higher energy prices, as
the year-on-year fall of energy prices in April was less strong
than in the previous month.

PARIS, April 28 (Reuters) - French year-on-year
inflation in April increased to 5.9% from 5.7% in March,
provisional data released by statistics agency INSEE showed on
Friday.
