BERLIN, April 28 (Reuters) - The German chancellery is not currently pushing ahead with plans to ban exports to China of chemicals used in chip production, a spokesperson told Reuters on Friday, after a Bloomberg report a day earlier suggested such a plan was under discussion.

"The Federal Chancellery is not currently pushing ahead with plans for an export ban on chip chemicals to China," said the spokesperson, in the first German government comments since the media report.

"Discussions of the Federal Government with foreign partners are confidential, therefore the Federal Government does not comment on the contents."
