NAIROBI, April 28 (Reuters) - Kenya's inflation dropped to 7.9% year-on-year in April from 9.2% a
month earlier, helped by some food items dropping in price, data
from the statistics office showed on Friday.
On a monthly basis, inflation was 0.5% compared with 0.8% in
March, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics said in a
statement.
The last time annual inflation was this low was in June
2022, when it stood at 7.9% year-on-year.
The government has a preferred inflation range of 2.5%-7.5%
in the medium term.
