* Oil prices sank nearly 5% to a five-week low on Tuesday along with a drop
in
Wall Street stocks on worries about a U.S. bond default, weak economic data from
China and expectations the U.S. and Europe will raise interest rates again this
week.
* Northwest European gasoline exports so far in April stand at 1.39 million
tonnes, down from the 1.79 million tonnes exported last month, Refinitiv data
showed.
* Gasoline stocks held in independent storage in the
Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp
(ARA) refining and storage area dropped by 3% in the week to April 28 to 1.3
million tonnes, data from Dutch consultancy Insights Global showed.
* PetroChina's Harbin refinery will shut down its whole plant for 50 days of
planned maintenance, starting from May 5, the refinery said in a statement on
social media.
* BP made a $5 billion profit in the first quarter of 2023, a rise on
the
previous three months on the back of stellar oil and gas trading, but its shares
fell sharply as it slowed a share buyback programme.
* Fuel demand in Europe has been "a little bit" soft while consumption in
China
has been strong following the lifting of pandemic restrictions, BP Chief
Financial Officer Murray Auchincloss told analysts on a call.
