Indonesia's tin miner Timah refined tin output down 18% in Q1

JAKARTA, May 3 (Reuters) -


* Indonesia's largest tin company PT Timah in the January-March period produced 3,970 metric tonnes of tin metal, down 18% from a year earlier, it said in a statement on Wednesday
* Sales of tin metal in the first quarter fell 26% annually to 4,246 tonnes as the company recorded an average selling price of $26,573 per tonne, down 39%.
* Timah's net profit in the first quarter shrank to 50.28 billion rupiah ($3.42 million) from 601.47 billion rupiah a year earlier. ($1 = 14,703.0000 rupiah) (Reporting by Fransiska Nangoy; Editing by Martin Petty)
