MUMBAI, May 2 (Reuters) -
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 334.75 points, or 0.55%,
to 61,447.19, while the broader NSE index gained 90.9
points, or 0.50%, to 18,155.9, aided by broad-based gains across
sectors, driven by March-quarter earnings, as investors await
the interest rate decision by the U.S. Federal Reserve on
Wednesday. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee was flat versus the U.S. dollar, and
quoted at 81.83 per dollar, ahead of the beginning of the
two-day Fed meeting. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.96
rupees, with yield unchanged at 7.1196% vs previous close of
7.1196%, as traders await Fed policy decision. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was
unchanged at 6.58%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 1 bps to 6.05%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at
6.20% against 6.20% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.72%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.7644%.
