STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 199.98 points, or 0.33%,
to 61,312.42, while the broader NSE index gained 67.05
points, or 0.37%, to 18,132.05, aided by broad-based gains
across sectors on March-quarter earnings, ahead of the U.S.
Federal Reserve's interest rate decision on Wednesday. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.07% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 81.90 per dollar, as investors squared off their
short positions ahead of rate decisions by the U.S. Federal
Reserve and the European Central Bank this week. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.95
rupees, with yield unchanged at 7.1210%; vs previous close of
7.1196%, as traders await Fed policy decision. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
1 bps at 6.57%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 1 bps to 6.03%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 20 bps at
6.00% against 6.20% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.55%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.7644%.
