STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 196.41 points, or 0.32%,
to 61,158.3, while the broader NSE index lost 72.35
points, or 0.40%, to 18,075.3, amid caution ahead of the U.S.
Federal Reserve's rate decision later in the day. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.05% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 81.84 per dollar, ahead of Fed meet, but
off day's high on likely dollar buying by Reserve Bank of India. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 101.60
rupees, with yield down 6 bps at 7.0291%; vs previous close of
7.0924%, on bets of dovish Fed commentary. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
5 bps at 6.54%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 6 bps to 5.98%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 15 bps at
6.70% against 6.55% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.73%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.6167%.
