GLOBAL MARKETS Asian stocks fell for a second session in a row on Wednesday, as global investors contended with signs of a softening U.S. economy, and were in full flight from U.S. regional lenders, ahead of an expected U.S. interest rate hike later in the day.
ERDOGAN PROGRAMME President Tayyip Erdogan will hold an election rally in the northeastern province of Rize (1130 GMT). He will also speak at an opening ceremony for a tunnel in the neighbouring province of Trabzon (1430 GMT).
INFLATION The Turkish Statistical Institute will release inflation data for April (0700 GMT). In a Reuters poll, the median estimate for the consumer price index (CPI) stood at 44%.
EXPORTS TO RUSSIA Turkey's trade data has started to reflect that Ankara has stopped allowing the re-exportation of sanctioned Western goods to Russia after repeated warnings from Washington, a senior U.S. Treasury Department official told reporters on Tuesday.
SANCTIONS The United States worked together to impose terrorism-related sanctions on two individuals linked to funding two Syria-based groups already sanctioned by the United States and United Nations, the Treasury Department said on Tuesday.
ISIS LEADER ISIS leader Abu Hussein al-Qurashi's six-month rule ended when he detonated a suicide vest during a Turkish special forces raid in northwest Syria on Saturday after refusing to surrender, a senior Turkish security official said.
