STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 260.77 points, or 0.43%,
to 61,454.07, while the broader NSE index added 85.35
points, or 0.47%, to 18,175.2, aided by metal stocks and a
positive reaction to strong earnings, as investors looked past
the U.S. Federal Reserve rate hike. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.08% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 81.75 per dollar, in the wake of the
dollar's decline following the U.S. Fed's policy decision. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 101.61
rupees, with yield up 2 bps at 7.0264%; vs previous close of
7.0057%, amid profit booking after yield eased below 7%. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was
unchanged at 6.54%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 1 bp to 5.95%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 20 bps at
6.85% against 6.65% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.76%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.7231%.
