Turkey - Factors to Watch on May 5

ISTANBUL, May 5 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday. The lira traded at 19.4880 against the dollar at 0406 GMT, unchanged from its close on Thursday. The main BIST 100 share index closed slightly lower at 4,484.35 points on Thursday.


GLOBAL MARKETS Asian stocks rose, the dollar eased and gold hovered around its record highs on Friday, as jittery investors remained nervous about the U.S. banking sector following another rout in shares of regional lenders.


ERDOGAN PROGRAMME President Tayyip Erdogan will hold election rallies in the eastern province of Van (1100 GMT) and Erzurum (1400 GMT).


OPPOSITION CANDIDATE Turkey's main opposition presidential candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu will hold election rallies in the southern province of Mersin (1000 GMT) and western province of Mugla (1400 GMT).


GRAIN DEAL Technical personnel from Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, and the United Nations will meet on Friday to discuss a deal that allows the exports of Ukrainian grains on the Black Sea, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said.


BLACK SEA COUNTRIES Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) meetings will continue on Friday.
