STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 539.9 points, or 0.88%,
to 61,594.19, tracking Friday's rally on U.S. equities following
the U.S. jobs report. The broader NSE index advanced
144.6 points, or 0.80%, to 18,213.6. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.11% versus the U.S.
dollar to 81.72 on dollar offers by foreign banks, likely for
their custodial clients. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 101.61
rupees, with yield up 1 bps at 7.0267% on the back of a rise in
U.S. yields.
OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
1 bps at 6.55%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 2 bps to 5.95%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 70 bps at
6.80% against 6.10% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.74%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.8212%.
