GLOBAL MARKETS Asian shares crept higher on Monday as investors braced for a week where U.S. inflation data will test wagers the next move in interest rates will be down, while worries about a possible credit crunch weighed on the dollar.
ERDOGAN PROGRAMME With elections looming on May 14, President Tayyip Erdogan will hold election rallies in the northwestern provinces of Kirklareli (1000 GMT), Edirne (1230 GMT) and Tekirdag (1430 GMT).
OPPOSITION CANDIDATE Main opposition presidential candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu and his alliance partner Meral Aksener, leader of the IYI Party, will attend an election rally in the southern city of Adana (1400 GMT).
POLITICAL TENSIONS Protesters threw stones on Sunday at Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), during an election rally in the eastern city of Erzurum, a stronghold of Erdogan's AK Party (AKP). Erdogan described the opposition as "pro-LGBT" at a rally i Istanbul among comments apparently aimed at appealing to his conservative Muslim voter base.
TREASURY CASH BALANCE The Treasury will announce cash balance data for April (1430 GMT).
