BUDAPEST, May 9 (Reuters) - The primary goal of Hungary's central bank is to bring down inflation as soon as possible, the bank's deputy governor Barnabas Virag told a conference in Berlin on Tuesday.

Virag said the risk environment has improved, but the bank wanted to see a lasting improvement. Virag said this will be the key consideration when the central bank decides on the timing of normalisation in its 18% one-day deposit rate.
