MUMBAI, May 10 (Reuters) - STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 178.87 points, or 0.29%,
to 61,940.2, while the broader NSE index gained 49.15
points, or 0.27%, to 18,315.1 as investors parsed through a
slate of major corporate earnings and looked ahead to U.S.
inflation data. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.07% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 81.9850 per dollar as investors await key
U.S. inflation numbers. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 101.51
rupees, with yield little changed at 7.0405% vs previous close
of 7.0445% before the April U.S. inflation data, which could
have a bearing on the U.S. Federal Reserve's interest rate
policy. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was
unchanged at 6.60%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 1 bps to 6.03%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at
6.75% against 6.75% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.85%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.7676%.
