BUDAPEST, May 11 (Reuters) - It is too early to say if additional budget measures are needed to contain the 2023 budget deficit, the Hungarian prime minister's chief of staff said on Thursday, adding that budget data so far this year turned out worse than expected.

Gulyas said it was usual for the deficit to widen in the first half of each year, and then improve in the second half.
However, this is not a usual year, and it is too early to say if additional budget measures are needed, Gulyas said.
