Sri Lankan shares end higher as financials rise

May 11 (Reuters) - Sri Lankan shares end higher on Thursday, aided by financials stocks.



* The CSE All Share index settled 0.65% higher at 8,949.82 on Thursday.
* Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc and Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka Plc were the top gainers on the CSE All Share, rising 5.6% and 3.5%, respectively.
* Trading volume on the index rose to 45.4 million shares from 17.9 million in the previous session.
* The equity market's turnover rose to 589.7 million Sri Lankan rupees ($1.85 million) from 415.3 million rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
* Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 36.3 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 575.3 million rupees, data showed.
