Turkey - Factors to Watch on May 15

ISTANBUL, May 15 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Monday. Turkey's lira slipped to a fresh two-month low as financial markets kicked off trading in the wake of the country's Sunday presidential and parliamentary election with the race for presidency appearing headed for a runoff. The main BIST 100 share index closed 1.08% at 4,795.61 points on Friday before the vote.


PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS Turkey headed for a runoff vote after President Tayyip Erdogan led over his opposition rival Kemal Kilicdaroglu in Sunday's election but fell short of an outright majority to extend his 20-year rule of the NATO-member country.


GLOBAL MARKETS Asian stocks started the week on a cautious note as investors braced for the release of China's industrial and retail data, while awaiting a host of U.S. Federal Reserve officials to speak to vindicate market pricing of rate cuts this year.


BUDGET BALANCE Turkey's treasury will announce budget balance data for April (0800 GMT).
