NIGERIA INFLATION Nigeria's annual inflation rose to 22.22% in April from 22.04% the previous month, as the price of food continued to rise, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday. KENYA MARKETS Kenya's shilling weakened on Monday to a new low due to increased demand for dollars from oil retailing companies and general goods importers, traders said. KENYA CENTRAL BANK Kenya's President William Ruto has nominated Kamau Thugge, a former senior Treasury official who now works as an economic presidential adviser, as the country's next central bank governor, the president's office said on Monday. IVORY COAST COCOA Cocoa arrivals at ports in top grower Ivory Coast had reached 1.989 million tonnes by May 14 since the start of the season on Oct. 1, down 6.1% from the same period last season, exporters estimated on Monday.
