SINGAPORE, May 16 (Reuters) - Pavilion Energy said on
Wednesday it had taken delivery of its first liquefied natural
gas (LNG) cargo accompanied by a statement of greenhouse gas
emissions (SGE) issued by QatarEnergy at the Singapore LNG
Terminal.
The SGE is a verified statement of greenhouse gas emissions
associated with producing and delivering an LNG cargo from the
natural gas wellhead to the LNG discharge terminal, but not
about the emissions from using the gas itself, aimed at
providing transparency in emissions calculations and helping
with decarbonisation efforts.
The SGE methodology has been applied to six delivered LNG
cargoes since its introduction in 2021, Pavilion said in a
statement. There are other methodologies in use and none has
been adopted as a universal standard
SGE was developed by Pavilion, QatarEnergy and Chevron Corp .
