May 30 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Thursday as investors cheered a slowdown in U.S. economic growth for the first quarter, while the financials sector led gains on support from upbeat second-quarter results from Royal Bank of Canada.
At 9:32 a.m. ET (13:32 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index (.GSPTSE), opens new tab was up 84.07 points, or 0.38%, at 21,982.05.
