March 17 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Monday, boosted by gains for energy and mining shares, while focus was on the upcoming U.S. Federal Reserve policy meeting amid the backdrop of an ongoing trade war.
At 9:34 a.m. ET (1334 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index (.GSPTSE), was up 0.53% at 24,682.32.
