Union for Chile’s Mantoverde mine calls on workers to reject contract offer teaser image

The union representing workers at Capstone Copper’s Mantoverde copper and gold mine in northern Chile on Thursday urged workers to reject a contract offer from the firm and prolong a strike that began in early January.

The mine on Wednesday presented a new offer to workers, which the union said was worse than a previous proposal. Employees will vote on the deal on Friday.
