TORONTO, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Canadian economic activity expanded at a slower pace in September as a measure of inflation pressures rose, Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data showed on Tuesday.
The seasonally adjusted index decreased to 58.2 last month, after touching in August its highest level since May 2022 at 64.3.
The Ivey PMI measures the month to month variation in economic activity as indicated by a panel of purchasing managers from across Canada. A reading above 50 indicates an increase in activity.
The gauge of employment rose to an adjusted 56.5 from 55.0 in August.
The adjusted prices index was at 82.8, up from 80.4.
The unadjusted PMI dipped to 61.9 from 62.7.
