(Kitco News) – After the Federal Reserve held rates unchanged as expected, Fed Chair Jerome Powell used the occasion of his press conference to counsel caution on the potential impacts of the Middle East conflict, while acknowledging that any prolonged oil price shock would lower growth and raise inflation. Powell was asked early on about several FOMC voting members shifting their expectations from two cuts to one cut in 2026.
