* Gasoil stocks held in independent storage in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) refining and storage area dropped by 5% in the week to Friday, data from Dutch consultancy Insights Global.
* The drop was due to higher exports from Europe to the U.S. East Coast as well as higher refinery maintenance, Insights Global's Lars van Wageningen said.
* High imports into Europe and unabated Russian diesel exports to other markets have been weighing on diesel margins globally.
* Diesel exports to Europe are set to soar to 7.37 million tonnes in April, their highest
since
January, Refinitiv data shows.
* Exports from the East for arrival in April are set to reach a new record high of 4.39
million
tonnes, the data showed.
* Josu Jon Imaz, chief executive of Spanish oil company Repsol , on Thursday asked
European Union authorities to put an end to imports of Russian diesel to the bloc through third
destinations.
