SAO PAULO, May 3 (Reuters) - Carrefour Brasil expects food inflation in the country to be "very weak" in the
second quarter, perhaps even reaching disinflation level, Chief
Executive Stephane Maquaire said on Wednesday.
His remarks come as consumer prices in Brazil reached in the
year to mid-April their lowest since late 2020, helped by
slowing costs in the key food and beverage group, with the
government calling on the central bank to cut interest rates.
