STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 62.46 points, or 0.1%, to
61,826.71, while the broader NSE index gained 11.6
points, or 0.06%, to 18,276, led by financials amid a rush of
corporate earnings. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.36% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 82.10 per dollar on the back of dollar outflows by
a large foreign bank and pressured by the rise in U.S. yields. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 101.55
rupees, with yield down 1 bps at 7.0356%; vs previous close of
7.0488% as traders await the state debt auction, which will
provide further cues to the market.. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
2 bps at 6.59%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 1 bps to 6.00%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 10 bps at
6.85% against 6.75% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.75%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.7569%.
