(Adds opposition leader's election rallies) ISTANBUL, May 11 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday. The lira traded at 19.5460 against the dollar at 0450 GMT on Thursday, flat from its close on Wednesday.


The main BIST 100 share index closed 0.92% lower at 4,494.48 points on Wednesday.


GLOBAL MARKETS Asian shares rose on Thursday as investors cheered signs of easing inflationary pressure in the U.S. after data showed consumer prices in April rose at a slower-than-expected pace.


ERDOGAN PROGRAMME Turkey President Erdogan attends the general assembly of the Confederation of Turkish Real Trade Unions (HAK-IS) and will hold three election rallies in the capital Ankara, three days days before presidential and parliamentary votes that represent his toughest ever political challenge. OPPOSITION CANDIDATE Main opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu will hold election rallies in Sivas and Bursa provinces. (1000/1400)


RUSSIA TIES Turkey has deferred payment to Russia of a $600 million natural gas bill to 2024, two sources said on Wednesday, the first such postponement under a deal announced last week that underlines deepening ties between Ankara and Moscow.


BLACK SEA GRAIN DEAL Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday he thought the Ukraine Black Sea grain deal could be extended for at least two more months, as officials from the parties involved held the first day of talks on an extension in Istanbul.


ECONOMY Turkey's economy is bracing for a "lost year" no matter who wins landmark elections on Sunday, political insiders say, even if the opposition pledges to tear down President Tayyip Erdogan's unorthodox policies.


SYRIA WAR Foreign ministers for Turkey, Syria, Russia and Iran met on Wednesday in Moscow, marking the highest-level talks so far on rebuilding ties between Ankara and Damascus after years of animosity during Syria's civil war.


CURRENT ACCOUNT Central Bank will publish balance of payments data for March, followed by weekly data on money and bank, foreign exchange reserves and securities movements. (0700/1100) Turkey is expected to record a current account deficit of $5.20 billion in March, a Reuters poll showed.
