Heap leach failure at Victoria Gold's Eagle - report teaser image

Kitco News - Yukon miner Victoria Gold (TSX:VGCX) suffered a heap leach failure at its Eagle Gold Mine Monday morning, according to Yukon News.

Photos of the site appear to show a landslide at the pit. The company said that there were no injuries. Mine operations have stopped.

Victoria Gold stopped trading. Osisko Royalties is down 5%, which partially financed the mine. 

Eagle employs about 500 people. Estimated annual gold production is 200,000 ounces a year. First gold pour was in 2019.
