* Gasoil inventories held in independent storage in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) refining and storage area were little changed in the week to Thursday at 2.36 million tonnes, data from Dutch consultancy Insights Global showed on Thursday.
* Gasoil demand along the Rhine was slightly lower but inland refinery maintenance kept product heading to southwest Germany, Insights Global's Lars van Wageningen said.
* High import levels have been keeping diesel margins under pressure, van Wageningen said.
* European diesel imports are set to reach 6.59 million tonnes in April, up

* The small diesel-producing hydrocracker at Valero Energy Corp's 335,000
barrel-per-day (bpd) Port Arthur, Texas, refinery may be shut for two months of
repairs, said people familiar with plant operations on Thursday.
