Fed's Powell says he'll stay for full chairman term teaser image

July 15 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said Monday he will definitely finish the full scope of his current central bank leadership term.

Asked at an Economic Club of Washington, D.C. event if he will fulfill his Fed chairman term slated to end in May 2026, Powell responded "yes." Questions about the Fed chair's future have been debated by economists and others amid the potential return of Donald Trump as president, given the former leader's long history of criticizing Fed policy actions.
