(Kitco News) - Global gold mine production in 2022 amounted to ~3,100 tonnes and was in line with 2021 (3,090 tonnes). China was the largest gold producing country in 2022, followed by Australia and Russia.
According to the preliminary data released by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), global mine production of gold in 2022 was ~3,100 metric tonnes, in line with 2021 (3,090 tonnes).
USGS said that in 2022, production decreases in Papua New Guinea and the United States were more than offset by production increases in Colombia, Indonesia, and Burkina Faso.

China mine produced ~330 tonnes of gold in 2022, which is slightly more than in 2021 (329 tonnes), and was the largest gold mining country.
Australia was the second largest gold mining country (~320 tonnes), followed by Russia (~320 tonnes) and Canada (~220 tonnes). The United States is fifth with ~170 tonnes of gold mine produced in 2022.
